After a week at the lovely Dusit Thani resort in the Baa Atoll, it was time for the second part of our Maldives adventure. The first step was saying good bye to Danll and the rest of the Dusit team, and we took our short seaplane flight back to Malé. There, another Dusit representative met us, and upon learning who we were, introduced us to a representative of our second resort, Nova Maldives. Again, we didn’t have to touch our bags. Both the Dusit and Nova folks refused to let us!
The Nova representative then took us to check our bags for our next seaplane flight, and then escorted us to the main lounge area. Unlike Dusit, Nova didn’t have a private lounge, but there were plenty of hotels that did. And this was just one floor.

The main lounge was quite comfortable, and while it didn’t have free food, the food that was on offer was quite reasonably priced (burger and fries for $5). It did, however, have some fantastic views of the seaplane harbor.

We waited for just over an hour before our flight was called, and entered the waiting area. This time, we took Manta Air.

Shortly thereafter, we were escorted to our ride. We didn’t take the purple plane on the way there, but ended up taking it on the way back. That was lovely as the plane only holds eight passengers, so they were all first class style seats.

And then we were up, up, and away, with more awesome views.

Landing was a little different, in that Nova doesn’t have a dedicated dock for seaplanes attached to the island. Instead, we landed at a small floating dock and were ferried in. This was our first view.

And so the second week started. Resort overview next!
